You can execute any program in your MAME folder by typing its name at the prompt and hitting Enter (you don't need to type the file extension) It should have your mame Path and a blinking cursor Or optionally from the start menu or Windows taskbar So now you can launch the command prompt by double-clicking on the shortcut icon (Optional) right-click on the shortcut icon and choose Pin to Start (Optional) right-click on the shortcut icon and choose Pin to Taskbar So if your MAME folder is C:\mame, then type that into that line and click OK You need to edit that line to show the Path to your MAME install On most computers it will be filled in as C:\Windows\System32 Right click on the shortcut icon and choose Properties Type in a new name like Mame_cmd or whatever you want and hit enter (Optional) right-click on the shortcut icon and choose rename The shortcut will be called cmd.exe-Shortcut Right-click on a blank spot on your windows desktop and choose Paste shortcut In that folder you will find a program called cmd.exe Gonna also copy this from the manual while I'm at it:Ġ registered and 17 anonymous users are browsing this forum.Open File Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32

Midway apparently loved to experiment with weird input combinations on their Seattle and Vegas hardware. NFL Blitz machines on similar hardware were also behaving as though a button was held down if the joystick type was set to 49-way (in that case, it caused cutscenes to be skipped).ĭip switches 3 and 4 need to be set to on for proper 49-way joystick operation (factory setting from manual). So if it's happening in MAME, it's probably a key binding issue that causes one of the buttons to be pressed continuously.Įdited by RealBadspot (10/05/21 01:34 PM) I fixed the button and it booted, and then I confirmed the problem by holding down the button during power on which caused the problem to re-occur. Specifically I think it was the player 1 turbo button. This thread is the only match for "no world data: test" on google, or at least it was until they decided to manually screw up the search results because of the coof.Īnyway, I have an actual Gauntlet Dark Legacy machine that exhibited this problem and I eventually tracked down the cause to be a stuck button. If any additional info is needed to help troubleshoot, let me know! I'm not sure if this is an issue or if I need to change some additional setting(s) to use a 49-way joystick.? If I set the joysticks back to 8-way and reload, it has no trouble. If I use the dipswitch settings to set the joystick to a 49-way, exit the game, then try to start it again it gets to initializing screen with red text and then just says "No World Data: Test". I was doing some config on my cabinet with 0155 and I get some strange behavior with GauntDL.
